Wall Cupboards For The Bathroom And Around The HomeShaker Wall Cupboard; Kentucky Shaker Wall Cupboard Kit; Taymor Decorative Wall Cabinet with Chrome Accents; Bamboo Wall CabinetThere is always a choice when you buy a cupboard or cabinet: should it be freestanding or fixed to the wall. The freestanding variety have the benefit of flexible positioning, and being easy to relocate as needed; those fixed to the wall are permanent, but being flush to the wall can save a little bit of space, and have extra stability, assuming the wall itself and the fittings are strong. Wall cupboards may be designed specifically for a particular room, such as a kitchen cupboard or bathroom wall cupboard, or may be suitable for use in any room. Like most modern furniture, you have choices ranging from a cheap composite wood bathroom wall cabinet to a very expensive solid wood bathroom cupboard that is hand crafted; from very plain and simple designs to intricately carved designs from real craftsmen. You can also find a simple but high quality crafted wall cupboard. An interesting example is the Shaker Wall Cupboard, for sale at about $310. This is an approved copy of a Shaker original wall cupboard held in a collection in New York. This cupboard has been adapted slightly to make it suitable as either a medicine cabinet or spice cupboard. Made from cherry wood, it has three cherry wood shelves. Also from Shaker products is the Kentucky Shaker Wall Cupboard Kit at about $425. This unusual cupboard, which stands out from wall cupboards generally,is again in cherry wood, and a reproduction of a Shaker original. The kit includes hardware, step by step instructions, sandpaper and oil finish. This is a distinctive but simple design, with a very unusual set of hangers from which the cupboard is hung on the wall. Moving downscale a bit and into a white MDF wall cupboard, the small Taymor Decorative Wall Cabinet with Chrome Accents will only set you back about $60. This comes with mounting instructions and hardware, and being in white easy to match with existing décor in the bathroom or elsewhere in the home. It does look like a nice bathroom cupboard. If that is not to your taste, but you like bamboo, the Bamboo Wall Cabinet by Altra Furniture might be more to your taste. Incidentally, bamboo is an excellent choice of wood for bathrooms, as it is moisture resistant. This cabinet costs just under $100, is sturdy and all natural bamboo.
